Fifty cent 1984 - Not intended for circulation

The 1984 Royal Australian Mint proof coins set was presented in a clear acrylic case, with blue holder and white foam covers used for protection.

Most years since 1966, the Royal Australian Mint has released a proof set containing proof examples of Australia's circulating coinage. Proof coins have a different and more refined manufacturing process than circulation coins. The dies are polished to give a cameo-like/mirror-like or matte finish.

In 1984, even if the dollar coin was officially released, the proof set didn't include it. The 1984 proof dollar coins were sold individually in a small case.

Fifty cent 1984 value

The value of a Australian coin depends on several factors such as quality and wear, supply and demand, rarity, finish and more.
