Fifty cent 1985 - Not intended for circulation
The 1985 Royal Australian Mint proof coins set was presented in a clear acrylic case with blue folder used for protection.
Most years since 1966, the Royal Australian Mint has released a proof set containing proof examples of Australia's circulating coinage. Proof coins have a different and more refined manufacturing process than circulation coins. The dies are polished to give a cameo-like/mirror-like or matte finish.
The 5 cent coin was included in this set even if never made for circulation and this is the first time the proof sets include the dollar coin.
Fifty cent 1985 value
The value of a Australian coin depends on several factors such as quality and wear, supply and demand, rarity, finish and more.
