Fifty cent 1989 - Not intended for circulation

The 1989 Royal Australian Mint proof coins set was presented in a clear acrylic case with red folder used for protection. A small amount of sets (5,000 out of 70,018) were packaged with The Australian International Coin Fair 1989 inscription.

Most years since 1966, the Royal Australian Mint has released a proof set containing proof examples of Australia's circulating coinage. Proof coins have a different and more refined manufacturing process than circulation coins. The dies are polished to give a cameo-like/mirror-like or matte finish.

Fifty cent 1989 value
